The TB Portals Program supports scientific research through data sharing and collaboration with scientists and programs studying various clinical, genomic, and radiological aspects of TB. We also engage in these analyses ourselves, working closely with members of the TB Portals Consortium.
Our current research includes:
Characterization of Mycobacterium tuberculosis genomic variability within country-level epidemics.
Investigation of reinfection vs. reactivation through genomic analysis.
Evaluation of radiologic TB severity scoring algorithms.
Drug-resistance in extra-pulmonary TB cases.
Phenotypic and genotypic comparison of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolated from sputum vs. surgical samples.
Predicting TB pathology based on machine learning and severity score from radiologic images.
Evaluation of TB drug resistance prediction algorithms.
